A group of 32 volunteers met this morning at Miss Laura’s Visitors Center to commence their 2013 Annual Volunteer Appreciation Trip to Degray Lake Resort State Park Lodge.
Miss Laura’s Visitor Center is made possible through the tireless efforts of a delightful staff of 70 volunteers. Their friendly faces greet visitors when they arrive in Fort Smith to gather information about local attractions and events.
The volunteers are a vital part of Fort Smith tourism. Along with giving tours of the first bordello to be named to the National Register of Historic Places (Miss Laura’s), the volunteers are full of historical information and intriguing stories about Fort Smith.
Volunteers man the visitor center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 – 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Stop by and visit with them…we guarantee you will walk away with some tidbit of information you didn’t know before and memories that last forever!
We love our Volunteers!!!
